3 Tips for Choosing the Right Business VoIP solution for your business

posted by Adam Evans on 2012-03-04 10:28:40

If you are a small business owner considering a business VoIP internet solution to replace your current business telephone system then you may have been online surfing through the many different hosted VoIP solutions. Unfortunately, there are likely millions of different hosted business VoIP solutions out there which can make finding the perfect one for your business a bit difficult.

The good news is that if you know what you are looking for you can quickly weed out the bad offers from the good. To help you out, here are three tips for choosing the right business VoIP solution for your business.

Hosted or non-hosted

The very first thing that you need to consider when you start to look into business VoIP services is whether they are hosted or not. For most small businesses a hosted VoIP solution is going to be the best bet since this means that the thing only you have to worry about is using the business VoIP lines as all maintenance and domain concerns are taken care of by the hosting company.

If by chance you do have a background in computer science you could consider the non-hosted pbx VoIP, but most likely in the long run it will be more hassle than it’s worth and now that hosted VoIP is so cheap not really worth the frustration.

Free features

The second things you need to consider are the free features that come with your hosted business VoIP service package. Most business VoIP providers now offer free forwarding, free switchboard services, free voicemail, free extensions, free recording, music on hold, and a wide array of related and additional features.

If the hosted business VoIP solution that you are looking for does not offer any of these than there is a good chance that it is not really reliable, or worth your money. After all, why settle for less when you have an excellent business internet telephone solution for the same price.

Flexibility

Finally, the last thing you need to consider when it comes to choosing your business VoIP solution is what packages the business VoIP provider has to offer and what freedom they will give you in terms of contract. A small business often grows in size or shrinks in size as their needs change, therefore it is only reasonable to assume your cloud VoIP needs are going to change as well. Always make sure they can accommodate your needs as they arise before signing into any length of a contract.
